Gouache
Gouache is a type of opaque watercolor that is often used in Western art. However, gouache has also been used in Oriental art, particularly in Persian and Indian miniature painting. It is used to create bold and vivid colors. Artists use a small brush to apply gouache to a thick, handmade paper that has been treated with a starch solution. The paper is often decorated with gold leaf or other decorative elements.
